The Sava tell gave the name of the Eneolithic Culture Sava. The Sava Culture was studied in 1950-s. Unique ceramics with colourful decorations, made with outstanding mastery were found there, as well as stone, flint and bone tools – proving to be the height in making such type of tools during this epoch. Historical Museum
The Historical Museum in Dalgopol was established in 1948 as school collection by the primary school teacher Dimitar Zlatarski. Since 1953 the museum has its own building and is funded by the state. By a governmental decision, a new, modern and functional building was constructed in 1985 in the centre of Dalgopol. In 1975 the Dalgopol Museum was promulgated a state one – the base for that were the materials searched during the previous decades. As a result of the collecting activities of its creator Dimitar Zlatarski the museum repositories hold enormous quantities of materials from the territory of the Dalgopol and the neighbouring municipalities.
With their quantity, diverse nature and chronological span, with their scientific and artistic value they make the museum collection one of the richest in the country. The archaeological department covers all periods from the Paleolithic until the Late Middle Ages.

| The Roman epoch is presented by collective findings of iron tools and arms, bronze and silver coins, bronzes. Rescue excavations of a Slavic settlement with 15 sunken-floored houses were carried out and glazed ceramic pots were found as well as a big finding of Slavic agricultural tools. |
