The Dalgopol Municipality is located in the eastern part of the Balkan mountains. The relief is semi-mountain and mountain. More than 50% of the territory is occupied by forests. The municipal centre Dalgopol is located 70 km away from Varna. Ruen, Provadia and Smyadovo municipalities are neighbouring Dalgopol.

Tsonevo dam lake, having 28 km length with full volume of 330,000,000 cu.m, is located on the territory of the municipality. The rivers Luda and Goliama Kamchia cross the municipality. The climate is moderate continental with mild winter, humid spring, dry summer and changeable autumn.

There are 5 agricultural cooperatives and three larger leaseholders on the territory of the municipality. The first municipal digital central telephone exchange in Bulgaria functions in Dalgopol. The mobile phone network coverage is about 90%. There is a specialized workshop, Obkov Ltd., for production of metal accessories and door handles.
During the last ten years seven factories for production of parquet started operation. The fields of inert materials (gravel, river rubble) and clay, suitable for the production of bricks, are of business interest. Construction gravel is obtained in the Sini Vir vicinity close to Partizani village. Eight general practitioners work in Dalgopol Municipality. In the municipal centre functions clinical laboratory making tests according to the all requirements of the Health Fund. In the municipal medical centre work specialists in internal diseases, and obstetrician-gynecologist, endocrinologist, neurologist, cardiologist, ophthalmologist, surgeon and allergologist. There are two pharmacies in Dalgopol. There are dental offices in the municipal centre and in the villages Lopushna, Medovets, Tsonevo and Polyatsite.

Children and adolescents study in two high schools and seven general education schools. The students are about 1,600 and the teachers 165.
